ClearType เป็นลูกเล่นหนึ่งของวินโดวส์ ที่ทำให้ขอบของตัวอักษรที่แสดงบนจอภาพ กลมกลืนกับพื้นหลังมากขึ้นไม่ตัดกันชัดเจน ตัวอักษรจึงอ่านง่ายและสวยขึ้น ตามตัวอย่างข้างล่าง

วิธีการเปิดใช้งาน ClearType บนวินโดวส์ XP (ใช้ได้เฉพาะ WindowsXP)

ใช้โปรแกรม Internet Explorer เข้าไปที่หน้า [[ClearType]] ของไมโครซอฟท์
คลิกที่ Turn On ClearType แล้วกด Next
เลือกชนิดของจอภาพ (RGB หรือ BGR) กดปุ่ม Next
เลือกรูปที่อ่านแล้วสบายตาที่สุด กด Finish

ถ้าใช้แล้วมีปัญหา สามารถดาวน์โหลดโปรแกรม Microsoft PowerToys มาปรับแ่ต่งค่าของ ClearType ได้

Does I have to care about IE6?

The world keep moving forward, so why should we care about those users who are attached to their out-of-date browser. A website should look the same in all browser, not with those bugs and never-been-fixed-functions which requires a good deal more patience as a developer.

Anyway, some of my clients want their website to look good in IE6 as well as in modern browser (such as IE7, Firefox, Opera), so I do it backward. When I design, I started from those modern browser first, after that I will look back on IE6 and IE5.5, etc.
